Researchers at MIT, the University of Sheffield, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology have demonstrated a tiny origami robot that can unfold itself from a swallowed capsule and, steered by external magnetic fields, crawl across the stomach wall to remove a swallowed button battery or patch a wound. 1. I feel like these things will be snuck into drinks to ruin someone's health.

  2. do you shit it out alive when its done doing it's task?

  3. So when are they gonna start building synths?

  4. The biggest thing I learnt was not to eat batteries…

  5. Tinker Tom fucking predicted this.

  6. Can it at least cure cancer, alzheimer or asthma?

  7. look what romanians invented now;)

  8. "A team of researchers at MIT and Elsweyr"

  9. Robot? Sorry isnt this just a magnet wrapped up in pig intestine or am I missing something?

  10. Okay, Am I they only one who thinks this is scary as hell.

  11. Another less thing for us surgeons to do. its much appreciated

  12. Why don't people just stop eating batteries

  13. But what if it rebels against humanity once it is fully autonomous?

  14. It just a little magnet! NO ROBOT HERE! WTF… call it a project, but it's not.

  15. I smell futuristic war…

  16. its awesome
a never heard of a thing like this before , thats a brilliant idea

  17. I think calling this a robot is a bit of a stretch

  18. Omg I have a great idea attach guns to its person with cancer swallows 1million of them with tiny guns than when in u they can have a war with the cancer lol😂😂😂😂😂😂

  19. Why do so many Americans eat damn batteries

  20. This is a really BAD IDEA! You should never ingest strong magnets.

  21. These could be used to target tumors!

  22. Oh, no…You swallowed a toxic battery, and it became stuck
Lets put a toxic magnet inside of you to get it out.
    Oh it got stuck too….
    Welcome to MIT

  23. Para estuduar en el MIT, que es necesario? Cuànto Cuesta?

  24. If the robot travels too fast will it be ticketed for speeding?

  25. But if you're using such a powerful magnetic field, why don't you just pull the batteries out using a magnet? Like attached to a string that they swallow or something. Not fun sounding, but MUCH simpler than a robot.

(Ik this only applies to the battery example, but it's what they used so it's what I'm using)

  26. were the 3500 batteries used to power ingestible robots?

  27. Dried pig intestine? Haha you can just say that you don't wanna save Muslims and Jews and that you want them dead, you asshole

  28. What in the fuck is wrong with you people?! You're so smart, your fuckin retarded?! Stop makin evil ass shit!

  29. This is gonna be on the news soon. It's sooooo cool!

  30. Who the hell is eating all those damn batteries?

  31. Your tutorials are pretty damn good! I liked and subscribed 😉 Maybe check me out! I do the same type of videos!
